Scratch and dent microwaves

Over-the-range microwaves are mounted under a cabinet, so their top and sides are hidden. Only the door and the control panel stay in view.

Where the damage usually is

Expect scuffs on the side or top of the cabinet, or a dented corner of the outer case from shipping.

What to check before you buy

  • Inspect the door, the door latch and the door seal closely. A bent door or damaged seal is a safety problem, not a cosmetic one.
  • Check that the turntable, the roller ring and any oven rack are included.
  • For over-the-range models, make sure the mounting plate and the template are in the box, and check the vent fan and the cooktop light.

Example microwave models and prices

These listings come from this site’s earlier outlet pages and show the typical gap between retail and scratch and dent prices. They are historical references, not current offers. Models change every year; use the specs to compare with what you find today.
