Small appliances are often discounted for a torn box rather than for damage to the product itself. Garbage disposers are a good example: the unit installs under the sink and is never seen.
Waste disposers
Disposers are sold by motor size: 1/3 and 1/2 horsepower for light use, 3/4 and 1 horsepower for families and for harder food waste. If you are replacing a disposer, a unit with the same mounting system can save you from changing the sink flange.
What to check
Make sure the mounting hardware, the splash guard and the stopper are in the box, and check whether the power cord is included or sold separately.
